i looked across a still glass lake

not a ripple on it, not a minnow’s wake

i could see the veins on distant leaves

every detail shining and beckoning

i saw a stranger on the opposite shore

cooking up a meal for me and what’s more

i heard elijah, i’m sure it was him

get into the water man & lose your sin

and heaven is waiting for a choice

waiting for a still clear voice

and heaven is waiting for a choice

waiting for a still clear voice

i’m lifted up above the water line

i fly across to thestranger’s side

i hear elijah calling out from the wild

drink up this water man and lose your pride

and sure as i’m living, i dined with the one

his words were brighter than a billion suns

he sent me running i never get tired

back into the valley where the world had died

and heaven is waiting for a choice

waiting for a a little noise

and heaven is waiting for a choice

waiting for a still clear voice

and now i’m witness to the stranger’s tale

any other story, is doomed to fail

but heaven opened for my wretched soul

and led me to him who made me whole

i look across that sheer glass lake

not a ripple on it, not a minnow’s wake

forever listen for his still small voice

and i am living because of his choice

and heaven is waiting for your choice

waiting for a little noise

and heaven is waiting for a choice

waiting for a still clear voice

and heaven is waiting for a choice

waiting for a still clear voice

and heaven is waiting for a choice

waiting for the still clear voice
